We are taking a much needed vacation this week in the lovely Crested Butte, CO and taking the time to catch up on our reading and research for our store as well. Sometimes when you are in the middle of working on your store, posting, doing write ups, shipping, treasure hunting for new inventory, reworking vintage items, and creating unqiue pieces you forget to take the time to remember your focus. Sometimes I get so involved in everything that goes into running my Etsy business that I forget to center, ground, and reflect. While we have only been open since May 11, our store has had in my opinion, success. I have heard that July is a slow season for online retail so I am preparing for a month where I will have time to research and work on the store more than work on getting to the post office.
So...with this newfound time on my hands what will I do?
I will definetly be watching as much True Blood as possible! Favorite TV show.
After that I am excited to begin working on refurbishing several pieces of mid century furniture that I would like to post in the fall. I have two vintage 1940s shop stools that are amazing. I have been using them as props in many of my photos. I need to sand them down and restain them as well as get some rust removed and repaint the legs. Any opinions out there as to whether I should try to sell them as is or should I refurbish? I will post photos of them when I return from vacation.
My husband and I are also fostering a French Bulldog for the French Bulldog Rescue Network. She is absolutely adorable. Her name is Butter Bean and she is a 9 year old cream princess. She loves to play soccer and snuggle. She makes the cutest puffer fish noises (do puffer fish make noises?) when she looks at you sometimes. She makes me smile. We will be posting her as available for adoption soon. Check out www.frenchbulldogresuce.org under foster dogs for Butter Bean.
Our vacation up here in the mountains has been great so far. Very restful and renewing.
